The central role of benefits to the global employee experience
Employees say that benefits provision is the top factor in improving their employee experience. They believe that the quality of an employer’s benefits provision demonstrates whether an employer is genuinely committed to supporting employee wellbeing and whether an employer aligns with an employee’s personal values.
Employee expectations towards benefits have increased across the board in the last 12 months, and most profoundly in India and the US.
Benefits provision is also a key consideration for people assessing new job opportunities. 61% of employees state that benefits provision is a very important factor when choosing an employer and this figure rises to 72% in Singapore and 65% in the US The figure in the UK is only 48%.
People increasingly want to see a prospective employer’s commitment to wellbeing and they’re evaluating this by scrutinising and questioning its wellbeing provision. They’re asking employers to detail the support in place during recruitment and to give them access to benefits right at the start of onboarding.
91% of employees believe that the benefits that an employer offers can directly impact their wellbeing and more than a third of HR and Reward professionals state that employees have become more engaged with benefits over the last 12 months.
